GHALANAI: Tribal districts’ director education Hasham Khan has said the government will construct six-room primary schools with six teachers in the region.

He stated this while addressing the oath-taking ceremony of all teachers association, Mohmand tribal district chapter, here on Saturday.

He said civilised nations were identified through their respect for teachers as the latter was performing a critical task of character building of students.

Mr Hasham said education brought real change in one’s life. The director education said after education reforms in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the International Monitoring Unit project would be extended to the tribal districts in a month for monitoring performances of higher secondary schools.

Under the reforms, he said basic facilities like computer and science labs, furniture, and drinking water facilities would be provided in all the higher secondary schools in the tribal districts, while in later stages, such facilities would be provided to the primary, middle and high schools. On the occasion, Senator Hilal Rehman said development of a society depended on the standard of education it provided to the young generation.

MNA Sajid Khan said only local teachers should be appointed in the tribal districts’ schools. He hailed the teachers’ contribution in a region ravaged by terrorism.

Tribal districts’ addition director education Hanif Rehman, assistant commissioner, Upper Mohmand, Naib Din Khan, district education officers of Khyber, Bajaur and Mohmand, president of all teachers association, Mohmand, Marjan Ali, principals, headmasters and large number of teachers were also present.
