LAKKI MARWAT: A meeting of the district council convened to discuss law and order situation ended in haste on Monday after a large number of infuriated villagers assembled outside the council hall to record their protest against disconnection of power supply to their villages.

When district nazim Ishfaq Ahmad Khan Meenakhel was about to speak on an agenda point regarding law and order situation, the baton wielding protesters of several villages entered the district headquarters complex, Tajazai, and assembled outside the council hall. They were protesting against the suspension of power supply to their villages in Upper Marwat Area.

It is to mention here that Pesco has disconnected electricity supply to the rural localities over nonpayment of dues and power theft.

The hooliganism and sloganeering by protesters disturbed the proceedings of the council, making the district nazim to direct certain members of union councils to pacify the protesters.
