LAHORE: The Pakistan Boxing Council (PBC) is holding its 4th Challenge Belt bouts and first-ever professional boxing in Quetta on Sunday.

PBC president Ifraz Khan said on Thursday that the challenge carries Rs20,000 prize money with the winner getting 70 per cent and the losing boxer 30 per cent.

Ifraz added that all the expenses of the event were being borne by the council itself.

PBC’s new secretary Rasheed Baloch said the entire activity was dedicated to Pakistan’s Olympian boxer late Ibrar Hussain Shah, who was shot dead in Quetta five years ago.

The main challenge bout is scheduled between Mohammad Ali of Peshawar and Mohib Ali of Quetta in cruiserweight and Mohammad Aslam of Pasin will take on Asad Ullah of Quetta in light welterweight, he added.

He said that a day prior to the challenge on Sunday, medical test and weigh-in of the boxers will be conducted at Ayub Stadium and the bouts will be held at 5.30pm at Yazdan Khan Middle High School Alamdar Road Quetta.

Rasheed further said a number of under card bouts have also been lined up before the main fight.
