FAISALABAD: Private schools’ students clinched the top three positions in the Faisalabad Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) annual matriculation examinations 2016 declared on Wednesday.

Shehram Tabbasum of Lasal High School, People’s Colony, clinched the first position by securing 1,080 marks, Afaaq Ahmed of the Divisional Public School and College and Fatima of the Sandal College on Millat Road remained second and third with 1,079 and 1,078 marks, respectively.

All position holders belong to the science group. Up to 145,827 candidates appeared in the examination, of them 106,426 passed with 72.98 percentage.

MULTAN: Private schools clinched top 13, of 14, positions.

A total of 100,162 candidates appeared in the examination and of them, 73,350 passed with a percentage of 73.23.

Muhammad Saifur Rehman of the Muslim Public Higher Secondary School, Peoples Colony, stood first with 1,085 marks while Muhammad Huzaifa, of the same school, and Mariam Shaukat, of the Public Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Lodhran, shared the second positions with 1,084 marks.

The third position was also shared by two candidates -- Khushbakhat, of the Nishat Girls’ High School, Police Line Road and Arrida Ahmed, of Nishat Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Shamilar Colony on Bosan Road, with 1,083 marks.

DERA GHAZI KHAN: With a pass percentage of 77.07, of the 63,693 candidates, 49,094 passed the examination. Private schools showed better results.

BAHAWALPUR: The Bahawalpur BISE showed a pass percentage of 75.70 as of the 73,154 candidates, 55,375 passed.
