PESHAWAR: The Provincial Selection Board (PSB) on Wednesday recommended promotions of 804 government officials.

The selection board’s meeting was chaired by chief secretary Amjad Ali Khan, according to a statement. The meeting recommended promotion of 124 officers of higher education department to grades 18 and 19, while 34 establishment department officials were promoted to grades 18, 19, 20 and 21, respectively.

The biggest number of officials (638) came from the elementary and secondary education department, who were recommended to be promoted to grades 18 and 19. Also one officer each from public health engineering and food department was recommended for promotion to grade 20. The PSB also recommended promotion of four information department officials to grade 18.

The statement said that the chief secretary expressed his anger over missing annual confidential reports (ACRs) of some officers of the elementary and secondary education department, and directed the department to suspend the reporting officers who held ACRs of their subordinate officials.
