I am just sick of these promotional messages that I get from brands on my cellphone. I want to get rid of them as soon as possible.
By the way, it's a great survey. Thanks for designing such an interesting survey questionnaire.

Mobile operators themselves send spam SMS on routine basis. As far as "Benazeer Income Support Program" is concerned I think every mobile user is being rewarded an SMS about this program.

FAKE messages from BISF, Lottery winnings, Prize Awards, Begging for money (using girl's names) etc.... Financial Fraud & Security Risk!
Immoral messages about improving sexual performance, thai massages, etc.... Coming to everyone irrespective of which mobile network you use .... Safety Risk!
This is just plain ridiculous. Blocking of such numbers does not help, they keep changing. How are these people keep getting new SIMs, when common people have to go and register their number with biometric identifications.... Guess they are using their special products on themselves and thriving!

Most of spam is so called promotional text messages by phone operator. Even the useful text messages are sent in Roman Urdu - why can't the phone operators get the options about the language to receive text messages from the phone operator.

Benazir income support messages, sexual medicine related spams, iTunes, the advertisements about sales especially at hyperstar
There should be sophisticated way to get rid of these. I have blocked at my cell phone even then I am getting spams, from different other numbers.
It's a nice practice, salute your approach, kindly conduct a survey for traffic rules and road safety usage.

Spam SMS is very annoying. Sometimes I think to give up cell phone use. Now they call you at any time whether you are sleeping or you may be in a worship place. In a single day they will send you the same sms several times. I have tried so many blocking applications but still not completely get rid of that as they use new numbers.

Dear All
Part-I:
PTA is the worst regulator in Pakistan. In my view, it takes undue benefits from Telcos; that's why it is silent and does not take any action. I personally lodged a number of complaints with PTA, but no response is received.
PTA and Telcos like the spammers and fraudsters because Telcos generate a lot of income due to misuse by spammers. If you lodge a complaint to Telco, it will definitely tell you to subscribe "Block User Service". This service is an income-generation source, and not the consumer protection measure. I believe Telcos themselves promote and send fraudulent SMS to agitate people so that they subscribe to the additional services. In addition, I suspect that 90% of All Spammers are sponsored by Telcos.

Part-II:
Please think for a while that in our country, there are a lot of problem, like load-shedding, poverty, healthcare issues, unemployment. In the presence of these immense worries, do the thousands of individuals have that much free time and money to spend on irritating and annoying customers???? There may be some notorious people, but not in thousands. I firmly believe that all this is sponsored by Telcos

Part-III:
LAWS:
PTA has regulations regarding fraudulent and obnoxious communication (ie, SMS and Calls). As per these regulations, if a complaint is received to a Telcom about a fraudulent communication, Telco is bound to block the said SIM (fraudster's sim) within 24 hours. For a complaint against obnoxious / unsolicited communication (where there is no fraud), Telcom has to put that SIM number in GRAY LIST for close monitoring; if that number again sends obnoxious SMS / call, Telco has to block the number.
But Telcos don't tell you about this. They use hanky panky to bluff you all the times. They will only state that they work as per guidelines provided by PTA. And PTA............. what to say about this White Elephant.
Believe me if a verification exercise is conducted on all spam numbers by FIA or Rangers, most of them will be those sponsored by Telcos.
