LAHORE: The impact of the kidnap of Sindh High Court Chief Justice’s son was also felt in the Lahore High Court on Wednesday during an important meeting held to review security of judges, their family members and the court officers.

LHC Chief Justice-designate Syed Mansoor Ali Shah chaired the meeting with senior judge Justice Muhammad Yawar Ali, Registrar Tariq Iftikhar Ahmad, the home secretary, Punjab IG, Lahore DIG (Operation) and other respective officers in attendance.

The police officers briefed Justice Shah about security plan of judges and their families.

Justice Shah asked the police officers to immediately remove deficiencies in the judicial security system and ensure safety of judges and their families as well as the whole judicial sector.

The judge also directed the home secretary and IG to get security clearance of the LHC officers and staff from Special Branch and ensure security of judicial complexes, judicial officers, lawyers as well as the litigant public.

Justice Shah also asked the authorities to make a foolproof security plan in the light of new guidelines and adjourned the meeting for Friday.
