WE thought that after the introduction of metro in Islamabad, there will be a big difference, and there would be fewer vehicles on the roads in Islamabad.

However, for the last one week the people of Islamabad have been facing tremendous traffic jams in the morning while dropping their children at schools. Such jams I haven’t seen in the last 10 years.

I have no clue who are the government advisers on the public transport system. After spending Rs48bn on the metro project, Islamabad got public transport facility only on two roads-- one is 9th Avenue and the other is Jinnah Avenue.
