SARGODHA: The University of Sargodha (UoS) announced results of BA, BSc annual examination 2015 here on Friday with girls outshining boys once again.

A total of 11,282 boys and 15,096 girls sat the examination with a percentage of successful candidates being 23.87pc and 39.86pc, respectively. Students of rural areas were seen to have shown better results.

Dr Iqbal Chaudhry, the controller of examinations at UoS, while giving details of the results said 26,378 candidates sat the examination and 8,689 were declared successful. The total pass percentage is 33.03.

Around 18,934 candidates appeared for the BA exam out of which 5,548 passed. The percentage of successful candidates was 29.34. For the BSc exam, 7,444 candidates appeared out of which 3,141 were declared successful. Pass percentage remained 42.44.

Iqra Naseem clinched the overall first position with 664 marks. Muhammad Zainur Riaz and Zubair Ali, students of Punjab College of Science, Sargodha, stood second and third with 662 and 661 marks, respectively.

In the BA exam, the top position was shared by Javaid Iqbal, a regular candidate from Government Degree College Noorpur Thal, Khushab district, and Tehzeen Aslam from the Govt Degree College For Women Jandanwala, Bhakkar district with 619 marks.

Samia Iqbal of Govt Degree College For Women Noorpur Thal, Khushab district scored 611 marks and secured the second position.

The third position was shared by a private candidate from Khushab, Samera Feroz, and Sana Kanwal from Lahore district with 610 numbers.

University of Sargodha Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Akram Chaudhary awarded cash prizes of Rs30,000 to the first position holder, Rs20,000 to second and Rs10,000 to third, as well as special shields and merit certificates.
