LAHORE: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council has granted permission of undergraduate medical admissions to the Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Medical and Dental College, Lahore.

The decision was taken in the executive committee meeting of the PMDC held in Islamabad on July 30, according to a press release issued by the Shaikh Zayed Hospital on Friday.

The Council had barred the institute from fresh admissions due to lack of faculty and infrastructure a month back. The penalty was fixed on the recommendations of the PMDC inspection team.

According to the press release, the PMDC also advised the University of Health Sciences to mention the SKZMC in its prospectus in new academic year.

Chairman and Dean of the Shaikh Zayed Hospital Prof Dr Farid Ahmad Khan attended the 30th July meeting and pleaded the case giving assurance that the deficiencies would be improved shortly.
