Pakistan v Sri Lanka 5th ODI — As it happened

Kusal Perera struck 116 off 109 balls and Tillakaratne Dilshan joined the 10,000-run ODI club as Sri Lanka piled up a record 368-4 in the fifth one-dayer against Pakistan . Left-hander Perera reached his century after a 164-run stand for the first wicket with Dilshan, who became only the 11th batsman and the fourth Sri Lankan to compile 10,000 one-day runs.

Skipper Angelo Mathews hammered an unbeaten 70 and Milinda Siriwardana clubbed 52 not out off 26 balls as Sri Lanka plundered 136 runs in the last 11 overs to record their highest total against Pakistan. The previous best by the Islanders against Pakistan was 349-9 in Singapore in 1996.

The match in Hambantota holds only academic interest as Pakistan already enjoy an invincible 3-1 lead

Pakistan I think will be beaten 'convincingly' today. And again in a risk for the race of CT. The suicidal decision by PCB would be proved disastrous. PCB will try but nobody will head... A tragedy is rushing .... Let's enjoy...,

@Lyra Dude chill out. Pak just won a test and ODI series in srilanka after a very long time. And that too with a bunch of new players. Srilanka have nothing to loose now and they went after Pak in this game. They have batted very well, give credit where it's due. As for Pak bowling I'm not too fussed with Wahab, Junaid, Amir in reserve. We should be glad Pak's batting has clicked and fielding has been right up there, two area where we always lacked. So Pak fans don't become 'jazbati' over one bad afternoon in an otherwise very successful series for many different reasons.

@Asad Rizvi : To win a knock out tournament like CT, you need consistent performances. Not sporadic spikes of good performance. Champs one day and down next day, then you are out of Tournament in first leg!!!

A bad day at the office. Pakistan needs some free playing batsmen at the top, Ahmad Shehzad is to slow. Mukhtar or Nauman should be given chances in ODIs. Sarfraz is so much hyped but to have 1 hundred and 2 fifties with an average of 28 in 36 innings isn't something to boast about. Imad Wasim is not an ODI allrounder. And lastly, Pakistan bowling is pathetic, specially Anwer Ali.

Losing is part of the game so is character. The margin and the manner in which this game was lost does not give much confidence. There was either panic or couldn't care a less attitude by the batsmen. This is bad for the team's next game anywhere. Captaincy left a lot to be desired and if this is what the coach told them to do then sack him now.
