If Ranveer Singh's shaved head isn't enough to pique interest in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's historical romance Bajirao Mastani, then Deepika Padukone's fearless stride definitely is.

Playing the role of legendary Indian warrior Maratha Peshwa Bajirao and a Muslim courtesan-fighter Mastani, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are looking striking in this epic drama.

Released today, the teaser shows a grave, head-shaven Ranveer on horseback, leading his army to meet the enemy on the battlefield. On the other side, Deepika draws a burning arrow to strike the approaching army. While Deepika comes off as headstrong and courageous and doesn't think twice before slashing her sword, Priyanka Chopra (who plays Kashibai, Bajirao's wife) only dons the armour to experience how it feels.

Given that Mastani became Bajirao's second wife, the contrasting personalities of the two women should offer an interesting view of the historical saga.

This will be the second time after Ram-Leela that Ranveer and Deepika are appearing together in a Bhansali film. It is slated to release on December 18 this year.

The concern is that if the government is thinking of cutting costs through the merger, we might even lose the functionality levels we currently have.
