KARACHI: Faqir Colony Boxing Club earned lion’s share when their nine boxers qualified for finals on the penultimate day of the commissioner Karachi Lyari sports and peace festival at Ustad Abdullah Baloch boxing stadium, Peoples Sports Complex, on Saturday.

The club’s pugilists who stormed into the finals were Naimatullah Khan, Zamir Jan, Rizwan Ali, Sher Ali (boys), Majid, Sikander Ali, Salman Ahmed, Shehroz Baloch, and Arslan Khan (juniors).

The three-day event concludes on Sunday with 10 finals — five in boys and as many in juniors — on card.

Semi-finals:

36 kg: Naimatullah Khan bt Rashid Ali 3-0; Ejaz Ali bt Afmer Kachi 3-0

38 kg: Ali Akbar bt Naseeb Ahmed 3-0; Zamir Jan bt Bilal Ahmed 2-1

40 kg: Ismail Baloch bt Tauseef Ahmed 2-1; Rizwan Ali bt Mohammad Usman 3-0

42 kg: Sajid Rasheed bt Jehanzeb Ali 3-0; Sher Ali bt Hussain Baloch 3-0

44 kg: Zohaib Rasheed bt Sameer Baloch 2-1; Nadir kachi bt Mohammad Faheem 3-0

Juniors:

Semi-finals:

46 kg: Majid bt Shahzad Khan 2-1; Jalil Ahmed bt Tohra Khan 3-0

48 kg: Maaz Ali bt Jamil Ahmed 3-0; Arslan Khan bt Samiullah 2-1

50 kg: Salman Ahmed bt Daniyal 3-0; Waqar Abbasi bt Arslan Ahmed 2-1
