LAHORE: A man and his sister-in-law were killed allegedly by their rivals over a monetary dispute in Raiwind on Friday.

Police said Zulfiqar, 26, and his sister-in-law Kauser, 19, resident of Jallo Mor, reached the house of their rivals Munawar and others for reconciliation, but they allegedly killed both of them and thrown their bodies into a drain. Police recovered their bodies and shifted them to a morgue for autopsy.

Police said victims’ family alleged that Munawar along with his accomplices Arshad, Shaukat and Sharif murdered Zulfiqar and Kauser.

A case has been registered against the accused on the complaint of victim’s wife Rani Bibi.

ACCIDENT: A six-year-old girl was killed while her father and mother were injured when a truck hit them in Shahdara on Friday.

Police said Shahid, his wife and six-year-old daughter Faiza, residents of Narowal, were crossing Shahdara Road when a truck coming from Sheikhupura hit them. As a result, Faiza died on the spot while Shahbaz and his wife suffered minor injuries. The truck driver escaped from the scene.

Police have started investigation and conducting raids to arrest the driver.

SUICIDE: A 30-year-old man who had jumped from the Azadi Chowk flyover on Tuesday died in hospital on Friday.

Police said Nadeem, a father of two, was jobless and suffering from financial problems. On Tuesday, he jumped from the flyover to commit suicide. He was taken to Mayo Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Police handed over the body to heirs after legal formalities.
