SOME people will go to any extent to prove they are different and in pursuing this objective employ any means to drive home the point that they are superior.

One example of this mindset is the use of fancy plates on automobiles instead of the usual vehicle registration prescribed by the relevant provincial authorities.

Almost daily one can see automobiles that have no registration number, carrying instead special plates inscribed with some name, slogan or word.

The common practice is that the permission for such fancy number plates can be obtained from the Excise & Taxation Department on payment of extra charges. I suggest that this practice be immediately stopped for uniformity in society.
