LANDI KOTAL: At least 13 suspected militants, among them a trainer of suicide bombers, were killed on Saturday night when military planes bombed hideouts of the outlawed Lashkar-i-Islam in Akkakhel area of Tirah valley.

According to the official in charge of Operation Khyber One in Bara, the air strikes in Warota destroyed 10 hideouts, including an ammunition depot.

Security officials claimed that the militants killed included Akhtar Gul who headed a training centre for suicide bombers.

The claims about militants’ casualties could not be independently verified.

Two civilians were injured in firing by security personnel for alleged violation of curfew in Spin Qabar area of Sipah and Charrhai Sar in Shalobar on Sunday. They were taken to Peshawar for treatment.
