Rear view mirrors

Published October 1, 2014

A motorcyclist collided with my car as he shifted from the third lane to the first. I was in the second lane.

I asked him why he did not have rear view mirrors on his motorcycle? He replied that he had removed them because they gave his bike an old fashioned look. I was taken aback by his reply.

I did not know whether he was being cheeky but a few more queries convinced me that he was unaware about their importance.

I request the traffic police to launch a campaign against motorcycles without rear view mirrors and that they also be educated about the importance of these mirrors.
