SWABI: A man was killed allegedly by his brother over a land dispute here on Monday, said police.

The incident occurred in Kadi village in the jurisdiction of Zaida police station. The victim’s mother told police that her sons clashed over a piece of land. She said the accused wanted to grab more land than his share in the family property.

The woman said that her son, Sail Mohammad opened fire over Wisal Mohammad, killing him on the spot. The accused escaped the area.

Meanwhile, thunderstorm accompanied by torrential rain badly damaged maize crop and vegetables in the district. Reports said that several low-lying areas in the district came under water. There were also reports of hailstones in some parts which caused further damage to standing crops.

The rain started before dawn and continued for over three hours, causing suspension of electricity supply to many areas. After the rain stopped, staff of Peshawar Electric Supply Company took hours in restoring the supply. The

overflowing badri nullah caused suspension of traffic in Topi city.
