KASUR: Jamaat-i-Islami Emir Sirajul Haq has said PTI chief Imran Khan should show flexibility and resolve the issues through dialogue.

Speaking to a gathering at Pattoki on Sunday, he said he was seeking the help of all the political parties for a drop scene of the PTI show. “As solution to all the problems lies in Islamic teachings, the JI wants to bring Islamic rule in Pakistan and also allow democracy to flourish. The worst form of democracy is better than dictatorship,” he said.

SAHIWAL: The JI leader addressed a big rally at Hockey Stadium here on Sunday night. It was arranged by JI’s district chapter to show solidarity with the Palestinians.

He said present political stand-off had two dimensions. One dealt with PAT and other with the PTI. “Had the Punjab government accepted PAT demands and registered the Model Town FIR, the situation would not have risen to this level.

Qadri Sahib could have been contained in Lahore had the Punjab government tackled the Model Town issue sensibly.”

He said as far as the PTI was concerned the JI supported its demands which were within the constitutional framework because any extra-constitutional step would create anarchy.

He strongly opposed army intervention and said assemblies must not be dissolved at any cost.

He advised political parties to stand up and show unity for the protection of democracy.
