Hindus across the globe celebrate Janmashtami, a festival marking the birth of their god Lord Krishna with traditional dances, worship and merry-making. Krishna is one of the most popular and adored Hindu deities and is considered the incarnation of Lord Vishnu, the protector of humans from evil and injustice.
