Bilawal appeals for 'political ceasefire'

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Saturday appealed to all political segments to hold a ‘ceasefire’.
In a statement issued on the 61st birth anniversary of slain PPP leader Benazir Bhutto, the PPP patron-in-chief called on all political forces to suspend the politicising of issues and show unity in support of the armed forces fighting terrorists under operation Zarb-i-Azb.
“There should be no space for partisan politics at this time. All political forces should be united in supporting our armed forces and working to help IDPs,” he stated.
Bilawal urged civilians to donate blood for the soldiers fighting in the restive north west and to provide assistance to Internally-Displaced Persons (IDPs).
He said his party is mulling the formation of a donation fund for the relief and rehabilitation of IDPs.

First, we should unite to defend Pakistan and not the "system". Secondly, more important than the blood donation idea should be efforts to develop an endowment fund for the Armed Forces and the IDPs of North Waziristan. A minimum target of $10 billion can be achieved easily if we are sincere. This can be a sound initiative for you and the future of the PPP. Also, if you really want PPP to survive and rise again, please do a major clean-up operation within your party. .

@Azmat Khan I presume you are being sarcastic here. Otherwise, I doubt you know the meaning of true and genuine leader, which we have had only a couple of examples in our country.
Bilawal should get a 'real job'. Only in countries like Pakistan, politics is regarded as a profession.

Very wise and mature appeal. Can you take charge of your party and revive it? PPP has a responsibility towards the nation. I don't want PPP to just become rural Sind party and PTI becoming one of the two major political forces.

Increasingly I find PPP and Bilawal to be the ones with whims I feel the most comfortable with in terms of moderate and modern positions on key issues. PPP can be a great opposition. Sad that they did not do enough to carry forward this modern and moderate agenda during their own government.

At least he is talking sense. I am not a fan of Bilawal, but his position on terrorism has been clear and concise, unlike other politicians who change positions based on the direction political wind is blowing at the moment. One day they want to make peace with them, the next day, they want to launch a war on them.
