PESHAWAR: At least three persons were injured in a hand-grenade attack on Sunday near an election office of the Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) in Fazalabad area of Takht Bhai tehsil near Mardan.

Rescue and officials reached the site of attack.

Police sources told Dawn.com that unknown motorcycle-riding attackers lobbed a hand-grenade near the election office of the PTI where the party's candidate from NA-10, Rehmanullah, was holding a corner meeting and that the injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Several attacks, claimed by the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), have recently taken place in Pakistan which is approaching elections on May 11, targeting several political parties, namely the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and the Awami National Party (ANP), across the country.

The terrorists are equal opportunity killers. Eventually, they always turn on their supporters and benefactors. IK will learn to his disappointment that his sympathies with the Taliban aill only buy him time, not immunity or protection in the long run.
