KARACHI: An e-book titled Seasons of Silence by Mamun Adil was launched at a restaurant on Thursday evening.

The novella has been published by an e-publishing concern called Indirom which intends to showcase the new trends in romantic fiction in South Asia.

Mr Adil is one of the four male writers whose books have been chosen to be launched from the platform.

Speaking to Dawn, Mr Adil said Seasons of Silence is an 80-page book. It pivots around a thirty-something married man, Nadeem, who cheats on his wife unashamedly. He has lived in New York in the past and had a love interest there. This is something that he has not been able to reconcile with.

Mr Adil said it’s a coming-of-age novel in which the protagonist tries to resolve the issues from the days gone by. According to the author, the story has been written in a realistic style with some dramatic portions. The influence of Bollywood films is also noticeable in the narrative.

Indirom has been established by two women, Naheed Hasan from Pakistan and Shanti Dominic from India. The former now lives in Boston and the latter is based in Johannesburg.
