LAHORE: Abbas Sharif, younger brother of Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, died in Lahore on Friday at the age of 58, DawnNews reported.

The funeral will be held this evening at 7 pm at the family’s residence in Raiwind.

According to sources, Abbas was electrocuted and was brought to the Sharif Medical Complex for treatment. However, doctors were unable to save his life.

Abbas Sharif was elected as a PML-N lawmaker to the National Assembly (MNA) in 1993.

He leaves behind a wife, two daughters and two sons.
