LAHORE, Jan 10: The Pakistan Railways police have made arrangements to cope with any untoward situation during the long march of Dr Tahirul Qadri.

On a directive of railways police Inspector-General Syed Ibne Husain, a control room has also been established in Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Multan, Sukkur and Karachi divisions of the PR to monitor the movement of the participants of the long march.

Deployment of personnel at sensitive installations has been increased while maximum number of commandoes would guard every railway station. The number of plainclothesmen in moving trains, especially Tezgam (7-Up), would also be enhanced as a large number of political activists are likely to travel by it on Jan 11, 12 and 13 from Karachi to Lahore.

Meetings with the district police had been held to ensure patrolling along the track outside the outer signals. All rakes were being properly swept at the washing lines before dispatching them to railway stations.

Strict checking of passengers travelling between Lahore and Rawalpindi has been started. Lady constables have been deployed to carry out search of woman passengers. Bomb disposal staff has started sweeping all stations and platforms.
