PESHAWAR, Jan 5: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce of Industry will coordinate with the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce Group (BCCG) for strengthening mutual relations to benefit the business community and promote industrial and commercial entities in their respective areas.

According to a KPCCI press release issued here on Saturday, the chamber’s president Dr Mohammad Yousuf and BCCG director Nasir Awan signed a Memorandum of Understanding under which the two entities would coordinate their efforts to promote mutual interests in corporate and industrial sectors in addition to sharing information for the benefit of their members.

Besides, the two entities would take measures to promote business relations between their members, facilitate them to explore the prospects of entering into joint ventures in Birmingham and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, arrange joint exhibitions to promote industrial products produced by their members, and share information about investment opportunities in industrial and trade sectors in their respective areas.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Yousuf termed the MoU important for the members of his organisation, adding that it would help them to benefit from the BCCG members’ business expertise. He also invited Birmingham-based entrepreneurs to make investment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said hydel power generation sector and a few other industrial sectors in the province carried tremendous investment and business opportunities for foreign investors.

On his part, Mr Awan said that his organisation could help the KPCCI in research and development sector and share knowledge about global trends.

The BCCG director also presented the KPCCI president a shield on behalf of the Lord Mayor of the City of Birmingham in recognition of his services for promotion of business activities in KP.—Bureau Report
