ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira on Wednesday said the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) would continue to render sacrifices until the dream of a democratic Pakistan was fulfilled, DawnNews reported.

The minister said the PPP had from its inception been made a victim of accusations, adding that, the party’s founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto had even been accused of dismembering the country. He further said that even Bhutto's opponents now appreciate his sacrifice for the country.

He said the PPP had also been accused of involvement in corruption of rupees 3,000 billion each year, adding that, even the country's entire budget did not amount to rupees 3,000 billion.

Kaira expressed revulsion over the fact that “Benazir Butto, the daughter of a family that had been sacrificing for the country, was declared a security risk”.

The PPP leader added that in spite of the torture meted out to the party leaders, the PPP had not abandoned its path to secure rights for the people.

The minister said all supporters would gather Thursday in Garhi Khuda Bux to pay tributes to Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, adding that, both the PPP’s founder and Benazir Bhutto would remain alive for and among the people.

Kaira added that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari would be addressing the public tomorrow (Thursday).
