NEW DELHI: The second game of a two-match Twenty20 series between India and Pakistan has been postponed by a day and will now be staged at Ahmedabad on Dec. 28.
According to Cricinfo, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to reschedule the game, as December 27 is the death anniversary of Pakistan's former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, who was assassinated in 2007.
The BCCI announced the move Saturday. The rest of the itinerary for Pakistan's tour, which also features three one-day internationals, remains unchanged.
The tour commences with the opening Twenty20 game at Bangalore on Dec. 25. The three one-dayers will be held in Chennai on Dec. 30, Kolkata on Jan. 3 and New Delhi on Jan. 6.
This will be the first bilateral series between the two neighbors since Pakistan's tour of India in November 2007.
