KARACHI, Dec 14: Prodigies Mehdi Raza and Rohma Gull clinched boys and girls’ under-12 singles titles respectively in the fourth Dr Essa Mohammad Karachi Open Table Tennis Championship at PSB Coaching Centre on Friday.

While Raza chalked up 11-6, 11-6, 9-11, 11-9 victory over M. Saqib, Gull outplayed Ayesha Bibi 11-2, 11-4, 11-6 in the final.

Raza has also made his mark in boys’ under-15 registering a straight 11-6, 11-4, 12-10 victory over M. Anas to reach the second final of the event. He has also reached boys’ under-18 singles fourth round. Haleema Ali annexed the girls’ under-15 crown by getting the better of Hareem Anwer in the fully stretched battle 3-2 the scores being 10-12, 11-6, 8-11, 11-2, 11-9).
