The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is situated on the Persian Gulf, bordering Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Iran. Dubai has the largest population in the UAE followed by Abu Dhabi and has the second largest land territory by area of all the emirates after Abu Dhabi.

Today, Dubai has become symbolic for its skyscrapers and high-rise buildings and Abu Dhabi's major attractions are the Sheikh Zayed Mosque – which is the most important architectural landmarks, and the Ferrari World, a Ferrari themed amusement park on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.

With UAE celebrating its 41st National Day on Sunday, December 02, 2012, Dawn.com gives you a glance of the country, its buildings and attractions.
