KARACHI, Nov 9: Four people were killed in separate incidents of firing, mostly over personal enmity, in different parts of the city on Friday, police said.

A watchman was killed in the Quaidabad area in the early hours of Friday, police said.

They added that Shah Nazir, 37, was killed near Rahmania Masjid in Street 16 of New Muzaffarabad Colony in a drive-by shooting.

The police shifted the body to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.

The victim was an area resident and hailed from Swat, the police said, citing personal enmity as a possible motive for the killing.

Property dealer killed

An estate agent was shot dead in a car ambush in the Sohrab Goth area over what police described as property disputes.

Nazar Hussain, 40, was passing through the Sohrab Goth area in his car when armed men riding a motorbike fired at the car and sped away, the officials said.They added that the victim was a resident of Gulzar-i-Hijri, Bengali Para, and dealt in plots along the Lyari Expressway.

The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities, the officials said.

They believed that the killing could be related to property disputes.

Worker shot dead

In another incident of firing in Sohrab Goth, a worker at a clay oven was gunned down, the police said.

They added that Mohammad Saeed, 32, was killed in a drive-by shooting near Indus Ground. The police later shifted the body to the JPMC for a post-mortem examination.

Sohrab Goth SHO Faseehuz Zaman said that the victim used to work at a clay oven and was father of two. He said that the deceased hailed from Battagram, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The police suspected personal enmity as a possible motive for the killing.

Contractor gunned down

A contractor associated with the construction business was killed in Machhar Colony over what police suspected non-payment of extortion money.

They added that the contractor, Niaz Pathan, was shot dead in firing on his car in Machhar Colony within the remit of the Docks police station.

The police shifted the body to the Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities. Hospital sources said that the victim had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

The police said that the victim belonged to Bajaur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Father of six, Nazeer had two wives one in Karachi and the other in his hometown, according to the police.
