LARKANA, Oct 22: The first death anniversary of Begum Nusrat Bhutto will be observed in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh Bhutto on Tuesday.

The PPP and the PPP (Shaheed Bhutto) has chalked out separate programmes for the day.

Provincial ministers Agha Siraj Durrani and Ayaz Soomro on Monday held a meeting at the Naudero rest house and reviewed arrangements for the anniversary.

In the morning, Quran Khawani will be held at the Bhuttos’ shrine in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh where Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, along with his some cabinet members and PPP leaders, will lay wreaths on the graves of the Bhuttos and offer prayers followed by distribution of food.

The ministers have directed the municipal officers to ensure cleanliness on the day while the officers of Sukkur Electric Power Company have been asked to ensure uninterrupted power supply for the event.

Quran Khawani will also be held in the central prison of Larkana where food will be distributed among the inmates.

Sanam Bhutto would participate in the programme, sources said.

The PPP (Shaheed Bhutto) will hold Quran Khawani at Al-Murtaza House on Oct 23 where central leaders will address the gathering.

Leaders and workers of the PPP-SB will visit Garhi Khuda Bakhsh Bhutto just after PPP winds up its programme. They will lay wreaths on the graves of Bhutto martyrs, including Begum Nusrat Bhutto, and offer fateha.—BoC
