RAWALPINDI, Sept 23: The Rawal Town Municipal Administration (RTMA) will register criminal cases against people involved in wall chalking, Rawal Town Administrator Saif Anwar Jappa told Dawn on Sunday.

Mr Jappa said the advertisements of sorcerers, faith-healers, and promotion of sex related products, education institutes through wall chalking could not be tolerated.

He said that wall chalking was destroying the beauty of the city.

He said that in the first phase they had warned the violators and now they would take action against them.

He said that he had asked the town officer regulation (TOR) and town officer buildings (TOB) to take action against the violators.

He said that it was necessary to take action against “this mafia that is looting the people and damaging the beauty of the city.”

He said that as a first step, notices would be sent to the fake aamils and pirs and they would be heavily fined, if they failed to remove their advertisements from walls within 15 days.

He said that in case of re-emergence of wall chalking in Rawal Town, strict action would be taken against the concerned officials.
