Gas scam

Published August 19, 2012

ABOUT five months ago, Sui gas connection had been granted for our village by the federal government.

We went to the district office at Makli Thatta where the staff advised us to contact the contractor, Sarwar Shah. When we contacted him, he said that each of us would have to pay him between Rs4,000 and Rs7,000 for our gas connections. We paid him the money but we have yet to get our gas connections. Besides, the contractor has been absconding ever since.

WE the undersigned residents of the Var village, Ghorabari taluka, Thatta district, appeal to the authorities concerned to take action against contractor Sarwar Shah, our hard-earned money be returned to us, and gas connections be provided to us as soon as possible.
