LAHORE: Former chief minister of Punjab, Dost Mohammad Khosa tendered his resignation from the basic membership of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) on Friday.
He sent his resignation to the PML-N Punjab Secretariat.
Addressing a news conference, he said a fake case was instituted against him with reference to Sapna.
“The Punjab government should not throw stones on others while sitting in the glass house,” he added.
He said a person like him could not get along with this system.
Moreover, he said that his father Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa also resigned owing to the spiteful actions by the Punjab government. “My father had contributed a lot to the party but was ignored.”
Criticising Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, he said it was totally unjust on his part to have 22 departments with him. He maintained that those who were keeping 12 portfolios were damaging the party.
According to party sources, Khosa's differences with Shahbaz Sharif surfaced when Local Bodies Department was withdrawn from him.
Furthermore, he said that his decision came a day after his father, Sardar Zulfiqar Mohammad Khosa, a senior PML-N leader, resigned from the party.
On the other hand, the PML-N provincial secretariat sources confirmed receiving of Dost Mohammad Khosa's resignation but said the final decision over the resignation would be made by the party president.
