Etiquette of using the cellphone Another wonderful article by Yasmin Elahi was published on July 7, in the Young World, Etiquette of using the cellphone.

Indeed cellphone has its advantages and disadvantages as all other technological inventions have. However, its usage has some etiquette to be followed. The writer has well mentioned such etiquette in the article.

In short, the use of cellphone should not be a disturbance to other people. All scientific and technological inventions ought to be used in a useful and proper manner.

Season in the sun Season in the sun by Zahrah Nasir (YW, July 14, 2012) was an interesting article that described beautifully the importance of the summer season. Though summer is difficult to survive, the writer nicely portrayed how even the most challenging days are enjoyed by Pakistanis.

Such articles must be a part of the Young World so that all those who are too bothered by the hot summer days can learn to enjoy it.

This is with reference to the article Season in the sun by Zahrah Nasir. The feature and the related photos were really marvellous.

Ours is a hot country and we have to survive hot weather for most part of the year but, fortunately, we are blessed with many fun spots where we can spend our summer holidays enjoyably.

I scream, we scream, we all scream for … The article I scream, we scream, we all scream for…by Shahida Paracha (YW, June 30, 2012) was very informative.

Ice cream, no doubt is a favourite delicacy of people of all age groups. Ice cream gives us a lot of joy in summer but it’s enjoyed by many people in winter too.

Operation clean-up … want to join? This is with reference to the story Operation clean-up… want to join? by Sana Shakil (YW, July 14, 2012). We are blessed with such beautiful beaches but the writer portrayed the true picture of the sea nowadays, which has become too filthy unlike in the past when there was no pollution.

Besides the concerned authorities, it’s our duty as well to treasure our natural resources. We must take care of the cleanliness of our surroundings and that includes all our picnic points too. If we happen to visit any such place, we must not throw wrappers, cold drink cans and other garbage in the sea or land but dispose them properly so that the environment remains clean and the wildlife and aquatic life also does not suffer.

Mystery stories It goes without saying that every brilliant issue shows the hard work and efforts put in by the writers and the editor, of course.

I enjoy reading the stories written by O.A. But O.A.’s character is as mysterious as his/her stories. I really want to know about this mystery as no doubt his/her stories are always interesting but it is never revealed who the writer actually is.

I would request the editor to please start giving brief introductions of the regular writers of the magazine as it would not only give them more fame but will also help other aspiring writers to get guidance to write better with the personal writing experiences of the established writers.

Zooming in The recently added section in the Young World titled Zooming in is really impressive. The photos published in this section are not only beautiful and unique but also provide us with valuable information.

The one published in the June 30 issue of the magazine regarding Merrell Down & Dirty National Mud and Obstacle Series was quite interesting.

I didn’t know about such events before. After seeing this photo, I searched the web and found out more details about the Down and Dirty events. I was in fact quite amused to know how creative people in the west are! In our part of the world, we don’t find such fun-filled and adventurous activities for youngsters.

Industry visit I request the Young World editor to include a regular section in the magazine with the title Industry visit in which the manufacturing process of certain products is described in an interesting way.

This way our knowledge will be enhanced and it would definitely be a wonderful addition to the magazine. Products may include those that might interest young reader, such as ice cream, candies, biscuits, pizza, cake, marshmallow, etc.
