It is saddening that among the many sufferers of the uncertain political situation between India and Pakistan is our artist community.

Four Pakistani singers have sung for the soundtrack of Saif Ali Khan’s film Cocktail, including Sahir Ali Bagga and Imran Aziz (son of Aziz Mian Qawwal). The producers of the movie had planned a concert in India at which both Indian and Pakistani vocalists were to perform.

Not to be. The Indian authorities turned down visa requests of Pakistani singers for reasons best known to them. As a result, the concert will now take place in London.
