PESHAWAR, June 21: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to include 30 top position-holders from Board of Technical Education in Stori Da Pakhtunkhwa Scheme.

Under the scheme, 10 top position-holders of diploma in associate engineering exams, seven position-holder students of D.Com and three of diploma of business administration (DBA) would be given Rs15,000 each a month for two years, while 10 other distinction holders would be given a similar amount for one year.

The decision will be effective for 2011-12 and 2012-13 with a total financial implications of Rs9 million.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has said that merit and transparency will be maintained in education sector’s special initiatives, which are aimed at achieving increase in literacy rate, access to education and generalising girls education.

Mr Hoti was chairing a meeting attended by a team of DFID and official authorities here on Thursday. — Bureau Report
