The four dead include two workers of a political party killed in an apparent target killing incident in the city’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar area.

KARACHI: At least four people, including a woman, lost their lives on Saturday in different acts of violence in Karachi, DawnNews reported.

Two workers of a political party were gunned down on in the city’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar area this evening, rescue workers said. The incident occurred in Block-15 of Gulistan-e-Jauhar when armed assailants opened fire on the victim’s car, severely injuring Aftab, Ghulam Shabbir and another man. Both Aftab and Shabbir succumbed to their wounds while they were being transferred to the hospital.

In another incident, a woman was killed near the Old Sabzi Mandi area when unidentified men opened fire on her. The woman later lost her life while she was being given emergency treatment at a hospital.

A young man’s body was found at Ahmed Shah Bukhari Road in Lyari area, rescue sources said. The youth had been shot dead after being kidnapped, police said. However, they said, the identity of the deceased was yet to be ascertained. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities.
