KARACHI: Unidentified assailants shot dead former president Malir Bar Association Advocate Salahuddin and his son Ali Raza Saturday morning, police and Edhi Ambulance sources said.

A police official said attackers were riding, a motorcycle, sprayed bullets on both of them near Bakra Piri when they were heading for Court in auto rickshaw.

He said that assailants escaped the scene after the attack.

Both the victim were rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for first aid, but succumbed to injuries on way to hospital.

Their bodies have been handed over to the family, he added.

Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sindh, Syed Mushtaq Ahmed Shah sought investigative report from AIG, Karachi about the killings in firing at Jafar Tayar Society along with details of security steps taken at the level of Zone, district and police station.

IGP directed to investigate the case with all angles and aspects to ensure early arrest of the assailants while examining forensic evidence with the help of Forensic Division Sindh Police.

Police official said that so far nine advocates have become victims of target killings since the start of this year.
