KARACHI: Muhajir Qaumi Movement - Haqiqi (MQM-H) chief Afaq Ahmed on Friday said he supported Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan's political stance, DawnNews reported.

Speaking to the media outside the Sindh High Court, Afaq Ahmed said Khan had a right to address the people of Karachi.

The MQM-H chief said he was in contact with many people, including politicians from the Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI), the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Lord Nazir, Habib Jaan, and Asma Jahangir.

The Sindh High Court on Friday issued notices to the DG Rangers, IG Sindh Police and the Home Secretary in the Afaq Ahmed security case.

On Thursday, Afaq Ahmed had filed a petition against the DG Rangers in the Sindh High Court for contempt of court. The application was filed after the Rangers failed to provide security to the MQM-H chief on the court’s order.

Answering a question, the MQM-H chief said rumours about his leaving the country for London were false. If I would go to London, I would go as a guest and return soon, he said.

The MQM-H chief also said that his party was in the process of reformation.
