LAKKI MARWAT, Sept 19: ANP MPA Yasmeen Zia on Monday said the passage of 18th amendment and provincial autonomy had enabled the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to formulate policies to boost education and health sectors and provide the people with all facilities.

She was speaking at a ‘Satori Da Pakhtunkhwa’ (stars of Pakhtunkhwa) function held on the premises of board of intermediate and secondary education Bannu to award scholarship cheques to the students who got outstanding positions in SSC and HSSC examinations.

Among others position holder students, their parents, teachers and heads of educational institutions from Lakki Marwat district attended the event. BISE Bannu chairman Sardar Bahadar Marwat and DCO Zahir Shah also spoke on the occasion.

The female lawmaker said that the government launched Satori Da Pakhtunkhwa programme to encourage and enable the talented students of government run schools and colleges to continue their education.

“Under the programme the position holder students of SSC and HSSC examinations will get monthly scholarships to meet their education related expenses,” she maintained.Ms Zia said that the government had defeated militancy and rendered sacrifices to restore peace and harmony in the volatile province.
