LALAMUSA: Pakistan Peoples Party's (PPP) Central Secretary Information Qamar Zaman Kaira on Friday said that the government would restore peace in Karachi at all costs.

Talking to mediapersons at Dera Kaira, he said that the operation was not being carried out in a specific area and that it was not a house search operation.

Kaira said it was an intelligence-led operation which was being conducted against miscreants which would help restore peace in the port city.

He said across the board operation had been started which would continue to complete restoration of peace in the City of Lights, adding that a remarkable improvement in law and order situation had been observed.

Kaira was of the view that the government did not want to get any political advantage from the operation and it was not a political game.

He said the real objective of the operation was to restore peace in the city which would be achieved, adding that it was absolutely a neutral operation which had been started from those areas which were considered to be strong hold of the PPP.

Kaira was of the view that the government would take action against every person and organization involved in the deteriorating law and order situation in Karachi.

He said weapon licences had been computerized through National and Database Registration Authourity in Karachi so that forgery could be eliminated in this regard.
