KARACHI: President Asif Ali Zardari summoned Sindh’s Senior Minister Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza in Islamabad on Tuesday, DawnNews reported.

During the meeting, the president told Mirza to refrain from hurling statements against the senior leaders of the PPP.

Presidential sources told DawnNews that President Zardari had taken strict notice of the remarks made by Mirza earlier against Interior Minister Rehman Malik.

Mirza had criticised Malik over his repeated trips to Karachi and had told him to leave the matters of the city in the hands of the provincial government and not interfere in the matters of Karachi’s law and order situation.

President Zardari told Mirza that such remarks and statements make the People’s Party appear weak and also go against the culture of democracy.
