ISLAMABAD, March 26: The capital police have resolved the mystery surrounding the killing of two Afghan nationals in the city the other day. Ali Raza and Ali Habood were eliminated by their rival - also an Afghan – through hired assassins, said the police.

The rival - AU - had an old monetary dispute with the family of the victims in Kabul. However, the matter was settled through a Jirga.

Later, AU left Kabul and reached Islamabad and started living here about a year back.

AU decided to take revenge and hired a group of assassins who contacted the victims through the internet on the address provided by their rival and trapped them as visa consultants for overseas education and jobs.

On March 20, the victims arrived in Islamabad from Afghanistan to get overseas visas against Rs100,000. They were received by one of the killers who impersonated a visa consultant. Later, the victims were introduced to a girl and informed that she was secretary to the consultant. The girl, who was said to be a sex worker, stayed with the victims in a local hotel for five days.

In the early hours of March 25, the killers picked the victims from the hotel room and were soon joined by AU.

Riding a car, they started roaming on the different roads. The victims demanded that they should be taken to the person who was to arrange visas for them. But AU asked them to return his money they owned him years back. This led to a quarrel between them. As a result, one of the killers shot Ali Raza dead.

They also snatched Rs100,000 from him. Later, they asked Ali Habood to be silent over the murder and arrange the amount.

In the meantime, they reached DHA on G.T. Road where the killers threw the body on the roadside. When Ali Habood tried to escape there, the killers also killed him.

The police recovered the car and the weapons used in the murder and said the killers had also been traced and would be arrested soon.
