It is interesting that media gallery photographs on "Critical Thinking -another national deficit" shows a large percentage of peaceful demonstrators are women. Such a contrast with so many images of crowds in Pakistan that are often 100% male.
Tells you something about who has the courage to speak up.

A great applause to the members of Pakistan Civil Society. But few points to note here are how most of the placards are in English and all the folks appear to be from well to do social groups. It would have been nice if they had invited folks from "common" people. This could help them connect with ordinary Pakistanis. The social divide needs to be bridged for any critical success .

Can someone who is fluent in Urdu,
please translate the slogans in each slide into English?
Dawn should be doing this in the first place.
Many Indians read the Dawn online.
and we would like to know better
what is being said in these pictures.
To the good soul who translates the slogans,
please mention the slide number before the translation,
so we can make the appropriate reference.
Thank you.

I think men have courage too and I bet husbands, fathers and brothers of these brave women can do the same but problem is risks are too high for men where fundamentalist have some shown some soft corner for women.
BTW: I'm happy that there are people in Pakistan who can speak up while we sitting outside of the country are only finding ourselves helpless to a great extent.
Sad it may sound but I find it hard to tell anyone that I'm from Pakistani origin. If people are ignorant, zardari is not helping either and if he was ok then our cricket team never lets me raise my head with pride. I can only pray.
