QUETTA, Aug 31: Security agencies raided a local Madressah and arrested a suspected Al Qaeda member on Tuesday.

The Madressah is located at the Brewery Road and is said to be run by the deputy parliamentary leader of the Muttahida Majlis Amal in the National Assembly, Hafiz Hussain Ahmed.

The man arrested during the raid was identified by police as Hafiz Abdul Khaliq. "Police arrested a former student of the Madressah, who taught in a religious school at Kuchlak," Hafiz Munir Ahmed, elder son of the MMA leader said.

He said that the police and personnel of other law enforcement agencies had cordoned off Madressah Matalul Aloom Arabia before conducting a thorough search of its premises. He accused the police of conducting a search of the house of the deputy secretary general of JUI-F.
