ISLAMABAD, Nov 25: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has said that the recent interaction with the Russian leadership has resulted in enhanced cooperation between the two countries in several areas including railways, construction, energy and tourism.

The prime minister was talking to Pakistan’s Ambassador to Russia Syed Mustafa Kamal, who called on him here on Saturday.

“Pakistan is keen to enhance its bilateral relations with Russia. Russia is a major global power and we want to have an ongoing dialogue between the two countries on diplomatic, economic and security matters,” the prime minister said.

Mr Kamal informed Mr Aziz about the initiatives taken to enhance the bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

The ambassador assured the prime minister that the mission in Russia would redouble its efforts to expand bilateral ties between two countries in a host of areas like energy, infrastructure, telecommunication, agribusiness, minerals and mining.
