MOHMAND: The local tribesmen blocked the Peshawar-Bajaur Road to vehicular traffic in Chanda Bazaar here on Friday to protest against prolonged electricity loadshedding in Mohmand tribal district.

The road closure caused inconvenience to commuters.

The angry protesters took to the streets in Chanda Bazaar near Ghalanai, the district headquarters, against painful loadshedding.

The protesters burned tyres on the road to block it to traffic and chanted slogans against the power company.

The protesters said that the power supply to the marble factories through special lines continued smoothly, while the households were subjected to unannounced loadshedding.

They threatened that they would continue the protest if the authorities concerned did not end the practice and ensured smooth power supply to the people.
