KHYBER: Three persons were killed and eight others injured in different incidents on Saturday.

Police in Jamrud said unidentified gunmen shot dead Nasir Khan, an Afghan national. Reason behind the killing could not be known.

Hardly an hour after the first incident, another person named Safoor Khan was killed and Ajmal Maniakhel was injured in another firing incident near the Takhta Baig checkpost. The assailants were riding a motorcycle.

The police said they had registered cases into both the incidents.

In Bara, a young man hailing from Swat drowned in an irrigation canal. His body was later retrieved by Rescue 1122 personnel and handed over to relatives.

Meanwhile, seven persons received injuries when a passenger van met an accident in Alamkhani-Shiekhmal Khel area of Landi Kotal.

The injured, including women and children, belonged to the same family. The injured were shifted to a hospital where they were stated to be in stable condition.
